Sony Pictures has unveiled new Madame Web character posters that showcase the primary heroes and antagonists from the upcoming film, which is situated in Sony's Spider-Man universe. The journey of Dakota Johnson's character Cassandra Webb is about to commence when she transforms into the pivotal character from Marvel Comics, who has the ability to see events transpire before they happen. The stage is set for Cassandra to take her place in the universe where Venom (Tom Hardy) brings unsuspecting criminals to justice; however, it is unclear if her power set will alter in S. J. Clarkson's picture.
The new posters include Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim), Anya Corazón (Isabela Merced), Mattie Franklin (Celeste O'Connor), Julia Carpenter (Sydney Sweeney), and Cassandra. The figures are depicted in black-and-white images, with the primary color of their outfits and the color of their eyes standing out, and a spider's shadow cast across their faces. The story of Cassandra will bind all of these important characters together, and as Dakota Johnson's character struggles to make sense of her newfound powers, secrets from her past will come back to haunt her. Sims, however, has evil intentions for Webb and the people she loves if she doesn't turn into a hero in time.
Cassandra is introduced by Madame Web as a paramedic who collapses from a bridge while attempting to save a victim of an automobile accident. Upon awakening, she experiences unexpected visions of yet-to-occur events, which endows her with clairvoyance. After a while, her visions take her to Julia, Mattie, and Anya, who are all trying to flee from Ezekiel, who is always trying to kill them. However, in an unanticipated turn of events, Cassandra recalls that Sims was working on a spider-related research project in the Amazon with her mother prior to her death.
Sony's Spider-Man Universe will include Madame Web as its fourth entry, and the company has no intention of giving up on the series anytime soon. Sony also intends to release a third Venom movie starring Tom Hardy and Kraven the Hunter later this year. Cassandra will now be a part of the Spider-Man comic book world's cast of strong female characters; however, it is unclear if the popular hero from the movie will be a part of Madame Web's realm. When Cassandra makes her big-screen debut next month, she'll have to face a villain from her past and learn to interpret her visions in the interim.
Before the movie opens in theaters on February 14 in the US, you can view the new Madame Web character posters above.
